Before we jump right into the different vegan meal prep ideas there’s one not-so-subtle distinction I’d like to point out based on my observations from different online forums and just talking to peers in general.

Eating healthy is completely different from being a Vegan.

When it’s written out so clearly to see it sounds absurd that I’m even mentioning it but you’d be surprised how often people tend to mistake one for the other.

It is important to know the differences so you don’t find yourself doing things under the wrong assumption(s).

So it leads me to believe you are here for either one of these 2 reasons:

  1. You are vegan and need some meal prep ideas that fit your diet or lifestyle I should say.
  2. You are not a vegan but understand some of the benefits of a vegan diet and need some ideas to make your diet a lot more flexible.
  3. None of those apply and you’re just here for the sake of curiosity.

I know I said 2 reasons which means the 3rd point doesn’t really apply but I know we don’t live in a perfect world so I’m accommodating whatever your reason may be.

Either way you’re welcome here and it is my hope that after reading through this post you can apply some of these vegan meal prep ideas to your routine.

With that, let’s talk about some vegan meal prep ideas.

Vegan Meal Prep

Veganism as you may already know is a practice that does not involve any animal products.

But it goes way beyond what is being consumed in your meals.

Vegans live a lifestyle that has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of animal cruelty or animal by-products – i.e. no meat, no dairy, no leather, no silk, etc.

That’s where a lot of the confusion happens.

Being a vegan is sometimes mistaken for being the same thing as a vegetarian, but they are completely different.

Vegetarians by definition do not eat any meat but may allow for some animal by-products. Things like eggs, milk, cheese and so on.

In today’s society there are a MASSIVE number of food items made with some kind of animal product.

It could be in the form of dairy, eggs or some kind of meat component. The point is it is hard to avoid if you’re not paying attention.

Veganism can be a lot more strict on the diet depending on the individual.

This means a lot of the vegan recipes call for a bit of creativity and that can be particularly daunting if you have a busy schedule as well.

Luckily there are some incredible bloggers and a massive community that have latched on and created some amazing recipes that taste the same as the normal ones.

That where all the vegan meal prep ideas come in.

Meal prep is a way for you to prepare your meals ahead of time so they’re done and ready for when you’re on the go.

It is the ideal way to save yourself some time while staying on track with any nutritional goals you may have.

If you’re someone who has a hectic schedule then it is important for you to consider doing some meal prep and it really isn’t that hard to get started on it either.

One of the most important steps you’ll need to do is come up with a plan.

An ideal starting point is to have your meals planned out and scheduled for the entire week ahead but you can plan up to a month ahead if its feasible.

If you’re not busy everyday then there’s nothing wrong with planning just for the days you know you won’t have time.

As far as the actual process goes, try to come up with some food choices that you would enjoy throughout the week.

Then pick the hardest meal for you to get done right which will probably be lunch for most.

From there you want to focus on that particular meal and have something picked out to cover that slot each week.

As you get used to doing this and make it a habit, you can then expand it into other meals as well.

The idea is to get the hardest meal out of the way then you’re able to work on the other meals.

Eventually the habit will be part of your healthy lifestyle.

As mentioned earlier, vegan meal prep requires some creativity for obvious reasons.

You won’t be able to make the same things everybody else is preparing because your lifestyle is different and things need to be done differently.
